From the heart

Four black teens in Philadelphia with nothing other than weekly tranpasses and opinions. Still, the criticism and general interpretation seem to change from day to day regardless of aforementioned teens consistency.

Whatever. We're not doing anyone some terrible injustice, and we don't claim to be changing the world or enlightening the folk beyond belief or recognition. Credences, food for thought, images, a few laughs here and there, and opinions are all that we can offer you. Whether you choose to accept or decline, you are here, as are we, daily.

To face the rain or sunshine, parade or riot, cookout or Saturday detention..We ride Septa.

Slumdog Millionaire

So tonight my sister and I headed out to Bala Cynwyd to see a movie that we'd never heard of,at a theatre that we didn't know existed, all because my Mother suggested it (demanded it). Bless the divine authority of the parental units,I am so happy that I was forced out of the house to see this.It might be a little early (OK the first day) in the year to say that I've seen my favorite movie, but this is it by far.

I won't spoil it for you,but this is a tale of rags to riches wrapped in love and adventure, set in Mumbai. Although some of the movie was captioned it doesn't take away from the overall effect like some translated foreign films do.The soundtrack for the movie was perfect, every song matched anything happening onscreen. Some of you will be happy to know that the Movie's theme song is by M.I.A. and there's at least three songs from her album featured. This is an amazing movie with excellent actors, music, filming, etc. If you take my suggestion you'll laugh, maybe cry (depending on your level of bitchassness),be angry, and indefinetly smile for the hero of the story Jamal (Dev Patel) during his quest to finally call Latika (Freida Pinto) his own.

You're pretty much on the shit list if you don't see this.
