"Anyone who travels frequently has ended up at the airport digging around for one of their gadgets or a charger only to realize it’s not there. If you are on business and are missing something like your cell phone charger — you could be in serious hot water.
Best Buy has officially announced a new Best Buy Express kiosk pilot program that will put Best Buy kiosks in airports around the country. Items inside the kiosks are said to sell for the same price the item sells for in the retail store — so no gouging. Best Buy says it teamed with ZoomSystems to launch the test.
Inside the kiosks will be an assortment of digital goods like computer accessories, digital cameras and accessories, flash drives, MP3 players, headphones, speakers, unlocked phones, portable gaming devices, gift cards, travel adapters, and chargers. The Kiosks will be placed in the following airports: Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis (MSP) and San Francisco (SFO). The rollout will continue through September 1."
Now that SOUNDS like a good idea, and I'm sure some of you would be utterly geeked about buying an ipod out of a vending machine in a different state, until you swiped your little card or inserted your hard earned cash and realized,"Oh shit..How am I going to put anything on this?I'm in the airport!!"
I'm sure this won't occur to 60% of people with cash and time to spend in airports though,so it just might work after all.
